Automatic sports story

Fill in the blanks:

Henman Crashes Out

Tim Henman today failed to get past the xxnumberxx round of the xxnamexx tournament. Losing xxscorexx to unknown xxcountryxx xxopponent-namexx. Henman looked off the pace, having only recently recovered from a xxinjury-detailsxx.

Now, has anyone noticed that Henman always “crashes” out? He never loses, gets knocked out, gets beaten… He could lose to the narrowest of margins after a titanic struggle and the papers would still say he crashed out. Bollocks to it – he gave it a shot, tried his best and on the day the better man won.

Bad luck, Tim. You’ll still be young enough to try again in 4 years!

Hey Iain,

Been a while since I checked in here.

Funny post, I thought I heard a reporter say he tumbled out once.

Personally I think we should stop making such a big deal when we don’t win anything on the internation al level. Just accept it, we can’t play sport internationally for toffee. How many sports have we invented that we can’t win….. Ok ran out of fingers and toes 😉

I don’t watch tennis, but I suppose you’re right. Stuart Pierce or Terry Butcher would wipe the floor with him.

Yeah, I think the guy deserves some credit. He’s been in the last 8 at Wimbledon virtually every year for the best part of a decade – last 4 on some occasions. Let’s say this balances as being 6th on average.

That makes him the 6th best player in the world (or whatever the ranking say). 6th. Out of how many? Wimbledon itself is a couple of hundred, then there’s the pre-qualifiers and stuff.
