Well, apparently plans are afoot to restrict smoking in public in England. Yay! But wait… it’s only in offices, restaurants and pubs that sell prepared food.
Well done, government people. Why do anything properly when you can make a half-arsed, fence-sitting, attempt-to-please-everyone, wipe-your-shitty-cock-on-the-curtains fuckup of it instead? It’s obviously just a “**** – Scotland are doing it. ********. ****. Erm… make something up” move. You useless ********. You’ll be the first against the wall when the revolution comes, mark my words.

Every poll I’ve seen is for a total ban in public places. The lowest score for a total ban was 69% and I’ve seen the figure up as high as 87%
Now, call me naive, but in a democracy, doesn’t that meen there should be a total ban?
Gordon Brown would freak out is everyone in the UK stopped smoking. How much tax income would suddenly dry up?
That must have something to do with the softer approach than the majority of people want.
Did you know that smoking was made illegal a few hundred years ago by the then king. However when the money that could be made in the Colonies through tax was realised, the ban was repealed.
I know in Ireland it was a ban on smoking in the workplace. And I think it will be the same here in Scotland.
Is it going to be the same in England? Or are they changing the wording to make it sound less threatening?
I read that if the place that sells food only sells pre-packed food then the ban will not apply to them.
Why are we (as a nation) so damnned soft on everyone, sorry smokers – smoking in enclosed public places has to go, but the namby pambies always get in somewhere, this time probably helped along by the tax benefits!
