I was watching Match of the Day this morning and endured the usual 10 minutes or so coverage of the Man U game – also known as Wayne Rooney‘s "How To Fight Like A Schoolgirl" Half Hour. Behind one of the goals were a few noticeboards for radio station XFM.
Nothing unusual in that, except that XFM is a local radio station for London and the surrounds, not Manchester. Ah. Wait. Of course. Silly me.
Something tells me you’d not see adverts for XFM at Man City. And don’t tell me about XFM being available on digital via Sky. Who on earth uses their Sky Digital box to listen to the radio?
Actually, the football coverage is the only thing I watch on Sky….Champs League coverage is unbelievable! I used to get fed up having to watch whichever English team was playing that night…now I get the chance to see Monaco V Deportivo, or Dinamo Kiev against Real Madrid… 🙂
The wife watches a lot of the movie channels and then at night I.. er,.. watch the radio a lot!
Scuzz is OK, better than Kerrapp! by a mile. TotalRock radio is better, especially after midnight when they do a 80’s Hair Metal/Classic Metal show…
don’t give sky your money… spend it on a DAB tuner instead… xfm is pretty googy… can’t imagine you likin’ tho’… would have thought you’d instantly denounce the majority of they play as indie crap… or have you changed more than I thought?
I confess that there are two reasons I’d consider getting Sky:
1) Footie coverage for which I’d end up paying a fortune
2) Scuzz, one of the music channels
So, on the whole, this explains why SkyCorp aren’t taking any of my cash.

I live way up north, and we cannae get many of the MW broadcasts.
talkSPORT on channel 858, 5Live on channel 855. In cd quality sound, too. Feed it through your stereo system and you’ve got TotalRock on channel 938 too.
And with modern TV such a pile of *****, I find myself listening to more and more radio.
I like Scuzz because they cover a load of bands I’ve never heard of. A good way to find new acts to download MP3s of.
