I did this course a few weeks ago, but I wasn’t expecting to get a nice little certificate for it. Pleasant surprise when I got home.

Hahaha, the silly buggers are actually paying me to do this job! I mean, paying someone to do something they enjoy? That’s a bit mad, isn’t it?

I had some free time after tutoring today, and finally managed to get round to tidying up and updating one of the resources we use for pupils working with MS Access. I’ve only been meaning to do it for about 2 months. So a pretty uninteresting picture for most of you, but a “yay, did it at last” for me.

I’m just happy to be back in the flat this evening… at 22:10. After a full day spread over two schools, then tutoring three additional pupils on the other side of Glasgow. The latest tutee has recently arrived at his new school from England, and is faced with sitting exams in a couple of months based around syllabi and arrangements he’s not been taught. A huge amount of catch-up and exam preparation needed. I’m happy to say, though, that he’s switched on and very keen. It’s going to be tricky but he seems like the kind of kid who can pull it off.

Right, I’m off to make a burger as I wasn’t hungry when I drove past two KFCs.

I booked onto an after-work training course for this evening – Tackling Homophobia in the Workplace – and when I walked in the first face I saw was that of a friend and colleague I’ve not seen for (we think) three years, maybe longer. The course was great, enjoyable and informative, but the the little surprise of seeing Dee for the first time in so long was the icing on the cake.
