ha ha ha ha ha.

You had your first date in Whitley Bay? and you’re still together? wow!

On a more serious note, I have lost my password to my site so my blog page will change drastically over the next few days. Arse.

Mosh

D’OH!

The password thing, not the Whitley Bay/date thing.

Ruggybabs

Everyone keeps telling me about that Pratchett dude. I’m going to have to get one of his books one day.

And ‘Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels’ was bloody great.

Mosh

Babs – Pratchett’s novels are (at worst) “very good”. The only one I’ve not enjoyed was “Carpet People” which was one of his very first and aimed at kids. He’s done two kids’ series since then, plus a new run of “Discworld for Kids” ones which are pretty good. Read the Discworld ones in order, though, if possible. And don’t skip Good Omens that he wrote with Neil Gaiman. It’s superb.

As for Lock/Stock, also check out Snatch (same team) and Layer Cake (directed by the producer of the first two). However, I’ve been told to avoid Revolver (Guy Ritchie again) as it’s complete self-indulgent ****.

I was under the impression that Pratchett was getting a bit samey and I don’t normally say that sort of thing. I loved the early books, especially the first one, Guards Guards and Eric and feel that some of his more recent stuff has not been so good*. However, I am reading Going Postal now and I think it is a real return to form. Hurrah!

*I more or less ascribe this to the decreasing use of asterisks in his writing

Housse – I was just going to say that GP is positively littered (or should that be lettered – haha) with postscripts. I’ve not been realy disappointed with a Pratchett in ages, though I still rate Pyramids as a favourite and it’s ancient now.

One of the few books to make me laugh out loud was ‘Mort’ byu Terry Pratchett. That said, his books are wearing a bit thin, for me at least.

Two of my mates from Cambs were up in Whitley this weekend. They went to the worst nightclub around, then the next night went to the club with the poles in it with the big girls dancing on them. Classy weekend out.

Mosh

Mort’s a good one. I like all the subtle references to other stuff in the books as well.

Mmm… big girls dancing on my pole…
