Overtime is great

I just spent 2-and-a-half hours updating 24 servers. And – amazingly – they all still work. That makes a total of 17 3/4 hours of overtime this month at time and 2/3.

*ker-ching*

Now I’ve bored you all to death, I’ll mention that I’ve now definitely decided that Japan’s going to form part of the world trip. Brief conversations with Louise brought up the fact that it’s also on her “to do” list and she even has someone there we can stay with. Whoop!

So, someone mentioned Japan. I want more info. Where’s good? And how much wonga will I need? I know it’ll be a shitload.

OOh – cheers for that, dude. I will do! Lou’s only ever been to Glastonbury and (I think) Leeds. Could be a giggle introducing her to a *real* festival…

I might make the effort and go to Big Day Out in Oz this year as well. See who’s playing, funds and all that. I loved going to Graspop in Belgium last year but I can do Europe any time in the future. Japan or Oz for a festival… see how many people at the gym wear *those* t-shirts!

Update – I found some info on 2005’s “Fuji Rock Festival” and “Summer Sonic”. The bands vary greatly – bit like our Carling festivals. Slipknot and Oasis on the same bill?

info here

Also the official page for 2006 in English. I did a quick bit of maths and a 3-day ticket is almost 200 quid. Ouch.

Overtime=excellent.

They need me for 12 hours tomorrow at 18 quid an hour.

Ch-ching!

Overtime you say? I worked 1 ’til 7 on Thursday. 1pm to 7am.

My record was when I was in Nigeria the first time. I slept for around 10 hours in 3 days, working every single other hour. Then I flew back (I can’t sleep on planes) and went straight to the office. Arrived at 11:30am. Left at 4:30pm.

Oh, and got paid absolutely **** all for the privilege. Strike one against my ex-employer and the beginning of me looking for another job.

two words of advice Mosh-san.
1 – Try the Kabuki Theatre when you get there – absolutely magic.
2 – Try to fit in a football match – it’s ******* crazy – flags everywhere, firecrackers, noise.

Many thanks – I’ll do that! I actually want to get a replica Japanese shirt from the world cup before last. Buggered if I can find them online anywhere. Sort of sky blue-ish with flames down the sleeves. Lovely.

Have yet to go to Japan but I’m sure you will need lots of what you call this “wonga.” I’d check out the Japan link at the Lonely Planet site for a quick overview. Pick up a Rough Guide or *gasp* Lonely Planet as well. All depends on how much time you have and likely the time of year that you go to (naturally). Hey, there is a big ass metal festival called Beast Fest I think look into that! I think there is a Mt Fuji music fest or something too.
