Yup, I’m going “backstage” at KFC to see how they make burgers. Then I get to make one. And eat it. And get souvenirs. Hey, it beats sitting in front of the TV on a Saturday morning!

This is Ann. She’s my mum in law. She’s not too well at the moment (again), which is a shame, but she still makes me smile because a) she’s mental and b) no Ann = no Gillian = no awesome family. Get well soon!

Mat was in town while his wife visited multiple venues to see some country and western acts. So we met up to talk about football, heavy metal and other meaningless drivel. A quick mention to Lock 27 where we were served a very nice (and very large) dinner by great staff, in a pleasant environment which also welcomes dogs.

It’s another birthday and still not mine. Ellissa turned 18 today so I dug out the oldest photo I could find of her on my phone – from 2010. I can’t believe how much she’s grown, and not just in physical stature. She’s brave, strong, confident, hard-working, generous, caring and selfless. You could not ask for a more wonderful daughter. No wonder today’s photos really made me smile.
