This wasn’t quite as disgusting as it sounded, partly as it’s got no sweeteners in it. So the flavour’s not great, but at least there’s no vile aftertaste like 98% of all remaining soft drinks in this bloody country.

Slowly it takes shape. What I forgot when I bought all these patches (or rescued them from an old jacket) was that I’d have to stitch them all on myself. Ouch.

Niamh’s taken up painting miniatures. Well, Shopkins. There was one she wanted to change the colours of so she had a go. She’s already better at painting little things than I ever was – I always went for the pre-coloured Airfix kits for a reason.

A busy evening, and this was after dinner… Both kids with their heads down finishing their Kumon, then Niamh decided she wanted to try Daddy’s new guitar. So Austin had to have a go after. Then I ended up with both of them making a racket when Niamh dig out her little keyboard that Mummy had very kindly given her new batteries for (I will have my revenge). I’ll spare you the video footage. Jigsaw time next as the pair of them put a fleet of unicorns back together (100 pieces), but then balked at the next one with its 300 “tiny” pieces which they’ll have a stab at tomorrow.

I may have joined the staff running club after school. Oops. I guess this now means I can eat even more KFC.
