I popped this on my wall the other day after Niamh and Austin had been in work with me for a little bit. I just happened to see it this afternoon in the middle of a class while I was frazzled and it managed to coax a smile out of me.

First day back at school today, after a week off. A full-on full-timetable to welcome me and by the time I got home I had a bit of a dry throat. Cue the hot chocolate and a pile of marshmallows which are medically proven to relieve a sore throat*.

I headed to a gig tonight, my third or fourth time seeing King King. This time they were headlining the O2 Academy with support from the also wonderful Sari Schorr. I wasn’t really in the mood for going out (I rarely am these days) but King King made it worthwhile as ever.

So we had a trip to Daddy’s Krav Maga class (where Little Miss and her brother ran riot in the gym for 90 minutes) before heading to Granny & Grandad’s where they played in the garden with a hose for an hour. No surprises the mess that resulted… So of course she passed out on the way home, clutching the bag of sweets she’d been given. Her brother used to be the same when he was younger, too.

The Pinkie Promise: an unbreakable bond between daddy and daughter. No pinkie promise may ever be broken under pain of… actually, I’m not sure if there are any rules. Just that you don’t break pinkie promises otherwise daddy will sulk and remind you about it for ages afterwards.
