Perhaps an odd choice as a Newcastle fan, but it’s not just the news that Bolton have been saved from League ejection by having a buyer agree to take them on. It’s been the reaction across the board from fans of so many other clubs, who’ve been so supportive over the last few days and who’ve celebrated at a team they don’t follow not being sent out to pasture.

First day of the new term proper, with all the pupils arriving. It’s a lovely feeling watching them all come in, and seeing the new Transitus pupils sat in assembly with their brand new (and in some cases over-long, you’ll-grow-into-it) blazers. Plus it’s a fairly short day so an easy start to the school year!
