OK, this one’s been posted on Colin’s blog and it’s a little different, so…
Name a CD you own that no-one else on your friends list does: “‘Die Letzten Ihrer Art’ & ‘Per Anhalter Durch Die Galaxis'”. Douglas Adams live and in “concert” in Germany.
Name a book you own that no-one else on your friends list does: I have tons, but I’ll avoid textbooks and dictionaries to make it difficult. OK, not quite a textbook, but nonfiction and an amusing read: “Why Do Buses Always Come In Threes?” by Rob Eastaway. I also have the follow-up. If I have to stick to fiction, then I’ll go for “Mosh – My Dream Cup Final With Newcastle United“. I will put money on the fact that nobody else has that one!
Name a movie you own on DVD/VHS/whatever that no-one else on your friends list does: Again, I went through a silly period at university and picked up any old crap for 50p. I’ll plump for Sewer Baby, a rather awful, no-budget “horror”.
Name a place that you have visited that no-one else on your friends list has: This one’s tricky as I pretty much only go places with people and those folks will most likely be amongst my group of mates. Hmm… Unless anyone cares to contradict me, I’ll say backstage at the Manchester Apollo with Sepultura.
OK, folks. Your turn(s). Answers on a postcard. No, sod that. Save the stamp. Just whack ’em in the comments.

1) Life after Death by Life After Death – an Armored Saint offshoot, I bought the only copy in Britain I think, from a mate of mine. Fantastic rock music that everyone I’ve ever played it to has disliked. Fools.
2) Dynamo: Defending the Honour of Kiev – A true life story about Dynamo Kiev during the war. The story that Escape To Victory was based on. Maybe.
3) The brilliant ‘Top Secret’!
4) I once went to the Tarlair Music Festival (’93?). It was held in a disused sea-water swimming pool in Macduff with a group of guys I’d never met.
1) MP3s please! Actually, I’ll have a dig online and see what I can find. Did they include John Bush, or was this after he left to replace Joey in Anthrax?
2) I have heard of that. Think I saw it mentioned in a magazine recently.
3) Also have it both on VHS and DVD!
better late than never…
1) Jimmy Nail “Crocodile Shoes” – my secret shame
2) The Fuzzy Papers by H.Beam Piper – it’s fuzzy but its got a serious point to make, what more could you ask
3) Shock Treatment – the one Richard O’Brien made after Rocky Horror, its got Ruby Wax, Barry Humphries & Rik Mayall in it among others of the original Rocky cast, some cracking songs & isn’t as bad as you think it might be
4) Zanzibar – coffee beans & spice growers, dolphins & giant tortoises, incredible sunsets with dhows sailing past in the harbour and the birthplace of Freddie Mercury – cool
He he, proves how sad she really is!
1) Robson and Jerome. Robson Green is a gorgeous talented Geordie, what more do I need to say. (Ok, so he isn’t be best singer in the world, but I was young and naive)
2) Riders – Jilly Cooper. A massive novel that keeps me quiet for hours on end!
3) Dirty Dancing – Will never be girly enough to be able to dance that well, but would be fun trying!
4) Cape Wrath, the Westen tip of Scotland. An amazing, lonely wonderful place which makes you feel like you are standing on the edge of the world.
Janet:
1) I’ve only got “Big River” 🙂
3) That was actually *made*?! I’ve heard tell of it coming onto the stage but didn’t realise a version was actually in existance. Ooooooh.
Life after Death was when Joey left for Anthrax…They had Gonzo and Phil Sandoval, along with their friends Jack Emrick (vocals) and Ray Burke, along with one or two other fleeting characters! A very raw, live sound, with harmony guitar parts and no faffing about!
If you have a decent sized email account (I can use Yahoo, which is now 10Gb per mail!) I can send you some tracks ….if you want?
Name a CD you own that no-one else on your friends list does: Alan Davies (the bloke off of Jonathan Creek) live in concert. Complete crap apart from the bit about Delhi Belly.
Name a book you own that no-one else on your friends list does: No one I know is as big a fan of only fools and horses as me, so the “OFAH inside story” is definite.
Name a movie you own on DVD/VHS/whatever that no-one else on your friends list does: Beautiful Joe. Found this in a bargain bucket, and bought it cos it’s got Billy Connolly in it. Worth it really even though he plays an Irishman.
Name a place that you have visited that no-one else on your friends list has: Ooooooh now thats hard. Possibly somewhere like Cwm Idwal in North Wales, because I did it as a kid, and I am too old and fat to take the walk now.
Name a CD you own that no-one else on your friends list does: Loki Cayote’s Wiccabilly (or something like that). I haven’t listened to it in a long time. Looks like I need to pull it out. It tends to disturb the neighbors.:)
Name a book you own that no-one else on your friends list does: This is hard, ’cause my tastes are generally your run-of-the-mill. I guess it would have to be “The Monkey’s Raincoat” (can’t remember the author). I picked it up in an airport newstand.
Name a movie you own on DVD/VHS/whatever that no-one else on your friends list does: Quidam (Circque do Soleil). How about “Hedwig and the Angry Inch”? Although, I have seen that on my brother-in-law’s shelf. So, I think someone here must have it as well.
Name a place that you have visited that no-one else on your friends list has: boiler room of the USS John F. Kennedy (US Aircraft Carrier). This one was also hard. I have been in some odd places, but so have many of my friends.
Sharon…
4) That’s because you actually are standing on the edge of the world…
😉
Sir, I would be most grateful! Pick a couple and send them over. I’ve had no joy searching the file-sharing archives. Mucho thanks.
Techinically I am, your right… as the only ‘land’ above there is not land at all, but made of ice.
I know a bit of geography babe!
You’ll need to convince the people at the job intreview that you know more than “a bit”…
