Mat was in town while his wife visited multiple venues to see some country and western acts. So we met up to talk about football, heavy metal and other meaningless drivel. A quick mention to Lock 27 where we were served a very nice (and very large) dinner by great staff, in a pleasant environment which also welcomes dogs.
It’s another birthday and still not mine. Ellissa turned 18 today so I dug out the oldest photo I could find of her on my phone – from 2010. I can’t believe how much she’s grown, and not just in physical stature. She’s brave, strong, confident, hard-working, generous, caring and selfless. You could not ask for a more wonderful daughter. No wonder today’s photos really made me smile.
I ordered this hoodie ages ago – well before xmas – and I’ve been waiting patiently for it to turn up. Which it did today. In case you can’t read it in my crappy photo, it’s from Transcending Obscurity, an underground heavy metal label from India. I’ve already got one of their t-shirts, but needed a new hoodie and they started pre-orders on this at just the right time. Front, back and sleeve-prints galore and it’s very comfy! Also, it arrived on day 66(6) which is obviously a sign.
26 more bands added today and I’m still finding bands that I didn’t know in the original lineup. I’m genuinely excited even though I know the weather’s likely to suck. And I haven’t booked transport yet. And Brexit will probably, to some extent, bugger things up.
I think this it the first meal I’ve actually made since I moved into the flat, rather than just heated up or microwaved. OK, so it’s still out of a box but there was mixing and stirring involved so it counts?
