2019 Pic 151

A busy evening, and this was after dinner… Both kids with their heads down finishing their Kumon, then Niamh decided she wanted to try Daddy’s new guitar. So Austin had to have a go after. Then I ended up with both of them making a racket when Niamh dig out her little keyboard that Mummy had very kindly given her new batteries for (I will have my revenge). I’ll spare you the video footage. Jigsaw time next as the pair of them put a fleet of unicorns back together (100 pieces), but then balked at the next one with its 300 “tiny” pieces which they’ll have a stab at tomorrow.

Took The Eldest and The Boy to see American Idiot at The Kings tonight. An unusual musical, very much a string of songs with very little verbal narrative but nonetheless impressive and enjoyable. It was also nice to have a night out with the older two-thirds of the brood when I usually have the younger end!

I have wanted a BC Rich guitar since before I was at university. I had money down on a Warlock many, many years ago but didn’t keep up the payments so I never got it. Well, I’ve not found a Warlock (well, I have but the guy on Gumtree who’s selling it isn’t replying to emails so I guess he’s sold it) but I did just pick up this Beast, a model they didn’t make back then and which has since been discontinued. It’s not the Kerry King limited run, which would have been eye-wateringly expensive, but it’s gorgeous all the same.

Now I just need to learn how to play the damn thing.

We were in the car earlier and a well-known Bon Jovi classic came on the radio. And then my son starts singing “Squidward on a chair” over the chorus. And now I can’t unhear it.

So I get home to google a photo for you lot and find that there’s a video on YouTube that’s been viewed 5 million times. And there’s a bloody 10 hour version. What is wrong with you people?!
