Grandparents and grandkids – Niamh reading her “Nature Poetry Book” that she made in school while Austin wonders where the next ham sandwich or chocolate biscuit is coming from.

Staggeringly not hungover from the previous night (much) but suffering from lack of sleep due to the heat and humidity (more), I took the kids out for a wander in the sunshine. We took in the Queen’s View north of Milngavie then popped into Mugdock on the way back. The ladies in the café there are lovely, and they serve nice ice cream. Niamh managed to eat most of hers.

Wow. I needed a collage today. One picture just wouldn’t work. In short:
- Last day of term with prizegiving, seeing pupils I’ve known for six years leave and head into the big, bad world
- Drinkies with colleagues who have surpassed “people I see at work” and are very much friends
- One of the best gigs I’ve been to in ages in the blazing sunshine at a wonderful outdoor venue (review link over on Moshville Times)
Today is a day I will look back on when I’m having a downer and remind myself that life can sometimes be so bloody awesome that it’s hard to believe.

As the end of term approaches, I realised that I’ve not posted an update on my “kids art” wall. Everything up there is by Ellissa, Austin or Niamh and it’s at least two layers deep in most places. It’s like fridge are on steroids. I can be having an absolutely crap day and all I do it turn around and look at something on there and everything just gets better.
