After a hard-fought battle and tactical use of our Joker during the science round (in which we didn’t actually do as well as we’d hoped), our team took home the annual inter-school quiz trophy. We had one of the smallest teams (if not the smallest), numbering only four with most having six and ended ten points clear of our nearest competition. A good night, and over £500 raised for a mental health charity to boot.

Tickets: £50, Pepsi Max (2): £6, Sweeties: £3. Watching son laugh out loud and clap along to classic rock tracks: priceless.

We went to see Rock of Ages at the Kings Theatre in Glasgow tonight. The last time I was there was August 2014… when I took his big sister to see the same show. Same time in four years to repeat the tradition with his little sister? He loved it – laughed at all the inappropriate jokes, clapped along to the songs and barely stopped smiling. I wish I could have got a photo of him during the show but I wasn’t about to get my camera out while the performance was on!

I finally finished the Databases module I’ve been working on for my S2 classes, and I’m quite pleased with it. It’s not quite the masterpiece I was hoping for, but it should entertain them enough that they don’t realise that they’re actually learning… and that’s half the battle.

I was going to post a photo from tonight’s excellent Powerwolf gig (review soon on Moshville Times, plug-plug), and then I grabbed this drumstick. I also didn’t make the mistake of giving it to someone else after the rather shitty response I got last time I did that. Sorry, miserable woman at previous gig. You ruined my generosity for others.
